I am Savannah Winston, a dedicated community leader and professional. I made history by becoming the first person of color elected to serve as a Commissioner for the Town of Preston, and later, the first woman and person of color to serve as President Commissioner, or "Mayor," for the town.

Professionally, I am an accountant, project management professional, entrepreneur, and the business owner of VanTech Business Solutions (VTBS), located right here in Preston. Through VTBS, I offer a comprehensive portfolio of administrative support services.

I bring over thirty years of multifaceted experience in the consulting industry. My professional history includes engagement in multiple large-scale projects for major government-focused health systems. My work has involved essential tasks such as research and data gathering, information system design, testing and training, strategic and project planning, gap analysis, and toolkit development. I have also achieved expert-level certification in Microsoft Office applications.

My educational background is strong and varied. I earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University. Currently, I am expanding my knowledge as a 2nd Year Doctoral Executive Fellow, pursuing a Doctorate degree in Education and Executive Leadership at Bowie State University. I am also a proud Class of 2020 graduate of Shore Leadership and a 2022 graduate of Shore Leadership 2.0.

The three "P's"—Passion, Patience, and Perseverance—motivate me daily. My life verse, which guides my path, is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path."
